I recently had the pleasure of working on a fantastic flooring project in Lincoln, California, where we installed beautiful Mohawk RevWood floating hardwood flooring. I wanted to share some insights into the process and the care we put into every step.
Getting Started
Before diving into the installation, preparation was key. We set up plastic barriers to separate the work area from the rest of the home. This not only kept dust contained but also protected the existing floors using Ramboard. It’s all about maintaining a clean environment!
Prioritizing Health and Safety
We take health and safety seriously. To ensure a safe workspace, we deployed our auto HEPA air scrubbers. These machines filter out dust and other contaminants, creating a healthier atmosphere for both our team and the homeowners. A clean environment is essential, especially when families are involved.
Demolition Time
Once the area was prepped, we got to work. We started by removing the old carpet, padding, and tack strips. After that, we carefully took off the baseboards, labeling everything so we could reinstall it later. Undercutting the doorways was next on the list, which allows the new flooring to fit nicely and gives it room to expand—a crucial detail for any flooring job.
Installing the New Floor
With everything cleared out and the surface prepped, we laid down the manufacturer-recommended foam pad for cushioning. Then came the exciting part: installing the floating hardwood floor. We made sure to stagger the joints for a polished look, taking our time to get it just right.
After finishing upstairs, we moved on to the stairs, ensuring a seamless flow throughout the home.

The end result? A stunning new hardwood floor that truly enhances the space. The warmth and beauty of the Mohawk RevWood flooring made a remarkable difference.
